Our parents married without courtship and marriage seminars but their marriages lasted than that of this generation…WHY??
In response to our topic for discussion yesterday, I got this response from one of my marriage mentoring groups, it meet my discretion of why marriages lasted in those days without courtship and marriage seminars. I will like all of us to learn from this and stop complaining, LET US GROW IN LOVE, LEARN TO ACCEPT YOUR SPOUSE FOR WHOM HE OR SHE IS……..Read the comment i love it so much, then i added mine…..⤵️⤵️⤵️
My Mom always tells me that in those their days u really don’t know who you will be getting married to.
They were forced to get married without any expectations from the man they are get married to.
She told me their marriage last because she learned to love my father the way he was. They were married already so nobody could fake their character. She loves him for who he is and learned to live with both his good and bad characters. And my father also accepted her for who she is.
She always say it’s not good to marry just because u have seen the good side of the person and forget to know that no human is perfect…..
They are still living happily for more than 50years

Today marriages suffer because it was consummated on the premises of feelings only (INFATUATIONS) and when feelings drop (which is very likely to be) they are no longer in love, this is what causes cheating, recklessness, divorce etc “I don’t love him or her anymore” is the common language, no one is ready to grow in love but want to be in love before marriage. But the best for marriages is to grow in love, this is what can last and not infatuations….
